Tech & Tomfoolery

Opus

Note: This was originally shared on Instagram.

Reflecting on my 2025, I find a year full of transitions made with a renewed confidence. I left my Haight studio of four years to move in with Daniel. I found the courage to leave my cushy Big Tech job to join a startup, and later to leave that startup with no plan other than confidence in myself to figure it out. I went on my first solo international trip and visited three countries for the first time. I taught myself the basics of music production and played original tracks for friends at their house parties. I went to my first Coachella. I even bleached my hair blonde again.

Having rung in the start of 2025 with Eric Prydz’s Opus, it became the theme song of my year. It, along with my friends and family, helped me find enough courage and self confidence to commit to these transitions. Eric Prydz’s Opus is a masterwork and I will cherish it for years to come, but it will remain tied in my mind both to 2025 and to finding the courage to face my fears.

I don’t know what 2026 holds, but I know I am a more resilient and capable individual than I was at the start of 2025, and I cannot wait to meet the challenges ahead.
